breaking point

can't take much more of this.
i think everyday..how is this going to end up and
how long will it go on before I finally break?
Stood through 3 years.
I just need one more.
Everyone wants to hear the happy fairytale.
It's true what they say.
When you smile the whole world smiles with you, and
when you weep you weep alone.

All the long-winded excuses, it all fits in perfectly.
I didn't want to see it before, but i'm facing the consequences now.
There are times I think I'd like to give up,
I'm not that strong.
I won't, because I can't. Not when I've come this far.
Not with what I have at stake.

Whats harder is the smile i have to paste on my face.
The anxious waiting, the hope, the disappointment.
Time after time.
You would say anything to save your skin.
I'll hand it to you though, you had us fooled completely.
Your dumb mindless playtoys, puppets.

The wrong people are getting hurt in the process.

Does that even matter to you?
Will you push us to the very limit so you can keep appearances?
Do you take pleasure in that?
We should share your pain?

No trust.
No respect.
 It's all been blown away.

Disgusted. Betrayed. Fretting.
My losses, i will earn back. Your's...are close to being gone for good.

I will get through this. I have to.

almost time to go

I recently read 'The Alchemist'.
It's the tale of a young Spanish shepard who goes in search of his
destiny, to seek a treasure at the Egyptian Pyramids. Along his journey,
he encounters many difficulties and also, an equal share of blessings.
He gets employed by a crystal maker and eventually earns riches.
But when he takes off to continue towards Egypt, he must make his way
across the treacherous desert where tribal wars are aplenty.
It's very Arabian nights :)

But this book definitely teaches you that life is all about ups and downs.
Never take anything for granted, because at any moment, it can be taken away
from you. Another important message was that many people never fulfill
their purpose in life. You were born with a talent. Maybe you've found it, or maybe
you have yet to. But each being has his own forte. However, we stray from the
path due to factors such as fear, obstacles, LOVE. True love in this book
is defined as love that doesn't impede you from attaining your goals. If
someone loves you, he/she will forever be there by your side, never a
burden to your achievements.

It's a very simple book, many readers described it as 'life-changing'.
Not sure if i'll go THAT far. But i agree with the morals portrayed, and
it's something to keep close to heart.

That's how my holiday back home in dearest Malaysia has been, a series
of ups and downs. Its been a bumpy ride, but perhaps with more hills than
valleys hehe. So happy to have seen people, places. It's always unbelievable
when you meet new faces and discover new things. For some reason too,
I'm heavy-hearted to leave. Normally I feel some aching pangs, which are fleeting
and vanish as soon as they're there. But this year it seems so much harder.
Every burst of laughter, every vision, every teardrop seems more vivid.

Maybe because 2011 was such a tough year?
Maybe it's because this is the last summer I have as an undergraduate?
An early twenties crisis?
The completion of 2012 will be another major milestone in life.
Getting a proper job, deciding what the future has in store for me.
I'm apprehensive, especially when I hear others speaking of investments,
stocks...saving up for apartments and cars. Such a change from where
we were just 2 years back. I guess I'm ready, change is after all, inevitable.

But I'm gonna miss everything.

Kay.

KL 2012 - pt.2

finally the new Sephora KL. It's small compared to Singapore's outlets though.
And alot of the stuff I wanted e.g. Urban Decay's 'Naked' eye palette was out of stock.
Devo muchhh

Durian pancakes from Sungai Wang!
There's one layer of fresh cream inside, not too much...and the rest is all soft sweet durian :D

On the way out for dinner on a Sunday night, Cass and Kangshen kindly
detoured to the nearest mall as we approached Kl city centre. My eyes were
itching and slightly inflamed from excessive contact lense-wearing, and I needed
solution to rinse them out desperately.

HARO times square!
Heard there's been an improvement in the clothes boutiques here.
But didn't get to stay for long just a drop-off so can't vouch for that sorry :(

After being caught in the jam for another half an hour, we reached our destination,
Changkat street!!!
Freaking whole 2 years of being in KL and I never realised then it was just a few roads down
from Jalan Alor. Basically behind Pavilion.
First time I came here I loved it, It's a whole row of dining places/bars/chillout spots.
Plenty of angmohs having a beer...huge selection of italian/german/spanish/local cuisines.
Everytime I'm here I'm at a loss as to which one to try!
We always walk up and down multiple times, eyeing the crowds inside and of course,
the beauty of each individual restaurant's interior decor :)
Hey, I want em nice pic-chas

We went for italian this time, at Werner's (much deliberation...it was
a close call with El Cerdo just opposite)

appetisers!

Guess what. After we were seated and had our appetisers served, the initial
flow of conversation and snapshots taking off...a huge downpour began suddenly.
No kidding. Huge thunderstorm. The water began splashing inwards onto us and our food.
Consequences of dining outdoors :3
We had to be shifted inside, then upstairs because they were all packed.
To the bar, which wasn't particularly ideal considering the tables and chairs there
were evidently, for lounging and sharing drinks.

Our dissatisfaction passed when the food arrive though.
Gotta give them points for prompt service. Despit the huge number of customers,
we didn't have much of a wait, 20 minutes tops?
Cass decided to judge by ordering a classic carbonarra

The quality of the dishes proved to be much consolation,
my seafood lasagne was a bit 'jelat' but overall one of the best I've had
in KL :)

Kangshen's spicy chilli meat pasta...not saucy, but flavourful enough

yummm!

Plus they were playing the music effing loud! I swear, in the midst of eating and
restarting our convo, the DJ blasted off mainstream club music, probs a tactic
to lure people in with the pumping boombox atmosphere.
Right beside the amp some more.
Points gone for deafened ears. Hello, it's barely 10pm..kinda early for clubbing
dontcha think

see, it's not a club, just a bar...the music does not need to be thumping!

We couldn't take not having any audio communication any longer so we
left to head back downstairs where we got our a spot close to our original table back!

Just a jug of Carlsberg while playing a trivia quiz

hot couple wooooooh
Who thinks Simba's dad is called both Makbar/ Mustapha.
Not trying to be a Disney manic here but say whattt..simply atrocious, peeps!

reaching for beer glass, hmmm i really do purse my lips alot :P

Next night, tried out Vertigo @ Gardens with woman and Danu's gang ;)
I secretly wanted Zouk, but they'd gone too frequently and wanted a break from
the place :(

Thanks for bringing me out woman <3

And to Neverland. Big hugs babyyy

The girls

That's Cheryl on the left

Daksha, Danu's big bro

Wai Kit

Cheryl and her loverboy JunJen ;)

Overall a fun night with a lot going on :)
I'd say there's fairly good eyecandy here too, unlike all the other
clubs which have become ultimately dodgy.
Felt like a sardine on the dance floor though..they only have 2 huge rooms.
One's the dance area and the other's for drinks/having a smoke.
Was pretty proud of myself! Had 6 drinks, including one called the 'waikit-shot' :P
Wasn't gone yet. Alcohol tolerance has risen ohyeah!

I really thought I'd lost it and gotten tired of clubbing (refer to posts dating back several months)
but it seems I've got some momentum back.
Ok off to do laundry...if I've the energy I'll pull together a part III
tooooodles!

xoxo,
Kay.

IMO smoking....

"Please don't do that."

"I'm sorry?"

"I believe that sucking..smoke into your lungs..will kill you."

"My physicians say that...it relaxes the..the (stammers)...the throat."

"They're idiots."

"They've all been knighted."

"Makes it official then."

Applause for the screenwriter.
- 'The King's Speech'

p. s. no offence dearest smokers. struck me as an amusing piece of conversation.

those little significant things

I love the small things.
None of these are worth any financial value, but they mean so much and more to me.
When someone does something for your benefit without telling you,
or tweets about how much it meant spending time with you, or
leaves you their keys because they want you to be able to leave the
apartment for fear you'll die of boredom, or instagram's a picture
of you saying how much they miss you, or walks you all the way to the front
door when you're keeling over from alcohol abuse, or mails a secret package to your doorstep.

Made a discovery the other day, unexpectedly while clearing my stuff from
a friend's place. I guess I saw something I wasn't supposed to by accident.
But I felt so touched by the gesture, even though it might not even come through.
I never knew, and knowing that I mean that much to someone for that someone
to have done that for me is so endearing. I could have cried.

Gonna start spreading the love.
Repaying the kindness.
Love is what makes the world go round.

Kay.

KL '12

Spent past 2 weeks down in KL, everytime I go back I feel this surge
of being in an actual city again, the highways/traffic/flyovers/monorails/skyscrapers.
Nostalgia kicking in :'(

Faisal fetched me from the LCCT and we made our way to Pyramid for a late lunch and
catch up sesh, fella's flown back to Canberra (or the life of everlasting boredom
according to him lol). Then awaited Squishy's pick up to unload everything at her place
at Bukit Jelutong.
Before that we had drinks with Imran & Bell at Republic, before deciding the
lovey dovey oldies songs there just weren't what we desired for Saturday night drinks,
so we switched to 17 Saloon.

keg of Jaz Fresh lychee draft beer at Pyramid.
"The new flavour of beer is a fusion which offers the fragrant aroma of sweet ripened lychee
that is surprisingly smooth and refreshing with a silky texture."

Ummmm, I beg to differ, sorry folks.

Didn't taste all that great, but it's a nice chill spot. There's 3 areas, each with a different theme
and I personally love the interior decor, too bad I didn't want to seem like a complete jakun
snapping pics of a bar in front of the dudes. So I skipped out on more pics :(
The juke box has a great playlist though!

Next day after Squishy's afternoon flying, she drove me to Bangsar.
I was incredibly excited cos I was anticipating good shopping at all the
boutiques, only to be heavily disappointed by the lack of trendy clothes.
Improvements were by far shown in the new 'The Loaf' outlet, which in case
some of you may not know is the patisserie franchise started by Mahathir himself,
famous for the light 'uhuhu' cheesecakes with a variety of flavours. Originally
there was only one in Pavi. And there's a new 'Delicious' in Pyramid too!
Also more new Tutti Frutti stores! gotta love fro-yo :D
And i found plenty of nail salons/ high tea cafes upstairs too, as in those silver platters of
tiny scones, cakes, sandwiches, quiche with pretty floral ceramic teapots.
Which you CANNOT find in kuching *grumbles* Manicures in KL
are alot cheaper too, or maybe I can't really compare properly cos the last time
I had my nails done in Kuching it was just before CNY, when the prices were hiked.
Though the salon at One Jaya does your hands for rm25....not cheap

Weary and awaiting Squishy's friend Kev, we had a slice of banoffee pie @ Alexis
Great place for cakes people

Spent the rest of the night at Madam Kwan's, which has fantastic asian food.
Nasi lemak/ cha kueh tiau here is orgasmic, as is the hor fun. Abit pricey, but
good quality and serving size

My sayang so KIUT kan?
aparently its illegal to upload a pic of her ID so hopefully no one from Firefly
services visits my blog

pepper lunch! 2 years in both KL/ syd and I never entered any of their restaurants

Stopped by Imran's house to meet his mum and sisters before mamak.
Lovely family. They have 4 very affectionate cute kittiesssss

Afters, Squishy brought me for seafood at a place opposite Subang airport.
Really fresh stuff, above is the buttermilk crab, 2 crabs weighing 1 kg going for rm58
sooooo YUM

 Kangkung belacan and tomyam soup
Tomyam was extra sour, plus for me seeing as I like the tang
Only downside of course : the toilets :(

(to be cont) Part II...
xoxo,
Kay.
